Jeffie’s Choice: Central California Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,500.00 to the Central California Food Bank on December 11th, 2024.

The holidays can be difficult for families who cannot afford groceries. The donation provided 14,000 meals to fight food insecurity and deliver fresh produce. Aside from distributing food, the food bank partners with community centers, churches, and organizations to help a wide range of people get the help they need.

Jeffie's Choice: Wiregrass Area Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,500.00 to Wiregrass Area Food Bank in Alabama on December 9th, 2024.

The Wiregrass Food Bank collects and distributes food in six counties to assist those who are struggling through a tough time. Through the donation 30,382 meals were funded for the community in Alabama. Several food pantries, assisted living homes, and neighborhood centers rely on the donations provided by the food bank.

Jeffie's Choice: Roadrunner Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 toRoadrunner Food Bank on November 21st, 2024.

Roadrunner is largest food bank network in Minnesota. Weekly, Roadrunner Food Bank is able to help tens of thousands of people experiencing hunger through their network of partner agencies and direct service programs. These numbers include children, families, seniors, veterans, the disabled, and others who have difficulty getting enough to eat.

Jeffie's Choice: Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,000.00 to Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee on October 16th, 2024.

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,500.00 to Foodlink food bank Rochester NY on October 16th, 2024.

Foodlink is a Rochester-based nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger and building healthier communities by addressing both the symptoms and root causes of food insecurity. They serve as the hub of the emergency food system across a 10-county service area. As a leading public health organization, Foodlink administers many programs and initiatives that aim to build the health and wealth of communities.

Jeffie's Choice: Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank on October 15th, 2024.

The Fredericksburg Regional Food Bank helps to provide nutritious food to over 35,000 people through their network of 159 community partners operating more than 250 food assistance programs. In 2022, the Food Bank collected and distributed over 5.8 million pounds of food and other grocery products, the equivalent of over 4.8 million meals provided to those in need.

Jeffie's Choice: Second Harvest Food Bank of Feeding South Louisiana

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Feeding South Louisiana on October 15th, 2024.

Second Harvest Food Bank leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response. Second Harvest provides food and support to 700+ community partners and programs across 23 parishes. Their staff and volunteers distribute the equivalent of more than 32 million meals to 210,000+ people a year. 

Jeffie's Choice: Northern Illinois Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Northern Illinois Food Bank on October 15th, 2024.

Their vision at Northern Illinois Food Bank is for everyone in Northern Illinois to have the food they need to thrive. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and proud member of Feeding America, they serve their neighbors in 13 counties with dignity, equity and convenience, providing 250,000 meals a day.

Jeffie's Choice: Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley on October 15th, 2024.

As the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States, Feeding America represents more than 200 member food banks across the country. Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley is an independent nonprofit organization operating and funding local food assistance programs in the Mahoning Valley – every dollar donated stays in our local community.

Jeffie's Choice: Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Food Bank of Contra Costa & Solano on October 10th, 2024.

Each month, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano distributes enough emergency and supplemental food to provide 2.7 million meals. Many of their neighbors are unable to make ends meet and the Food Bank helps them cover one of life’s basic needs — nutritious food. They strive to serve all people experiencing hunger or food insecurity in Solano and Contra Costa counties and commit to never turn anyone away.

Jeffie's Choice: The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri on October 10th, 2024.

In Missouri, 1 in 7 people and 1 in 5 children were food insecure in 2022. Based on recent local data, that number is even higher now. Serving more people with less food is daunting, but donations like ours allow The Food Bank to fund new and creative ways to get food to neighbors and improve long-term food security in communities.

Jeffie's Choice: Harvest Hope Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $2,500.00 to Harvest Hope Food Bank on October 8th, 2024.

South Carolina Mariner Finance team members also volunteered at Harvest Hope Food Bank with the Fill a Backpack program.  The program stuffs bags with non-perishable foods that are then distributed at schools.  

Harvest Hope is South Carolina’s largest food bank, providing over 25 million meals on average to neighbors in need across the Midlands, Pee Dee and the upstate.  The food pantry feeds over 200 families per day. Since the Hurricane Helene, this number has reached close to 900 families.  The Fill a Backpack program seeks to fill the gap faced by 1 in 5 children in South Carolina who are food insecure and often go hungry on the weekends and during school breaks. 

Jeffie's Choice: MANNA Food Bank

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,500.00 to MANNA Food Bank on September 7th, 2024.

MANNA FoodBank, located in Asheville, North Carolina, is a private, not-for-profit service organization working to end food insecurity in the 16 counties of Western North Carolina, including the Qualla Boundary. MANNA links the food industry to over 200 partner pantries and other human service organizations to get food to thousands of families’ tables.

Jeffie's Choice: Food Bank of Delaware

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,500.00 to Food Bank of Delaware on June 24th, 2024.

Their mission is to inspire hope in their communities by providing food to nourish Delawareans, while collaborating on long-term solutions to hunger and poverty. They distribute millions of pounds of food each year to the community through on-site food pantries, mobile food pantries and a network of hunger-relief partners throughout the state.

Jeffie's Choice: R.H. Parker United Foundation

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc. received a very generous $10,000.00 donation from R.H. Parker United Foundation on May 6th, 2024.

The R. H. Parker/United Foundation, an independent private foundation, was established in Oregon in 1994 by Richard H. Parker, Jr. and other members of the family. Its primary mission is to further education and youth programs in the areas United Finance Co. serves. They are committed to helping their communities grow and prosper. Each year, through the R. H. Parker/United Foundation they assist many local nonprofit organizations working to make the communities they share a better place to live and work.

Jeffie’s Choice, Inc., through Mariner Finance, donated $3,500.00 to Capital Area Food Bank on February 22nd, 2024.

CAFB was founded 44 years ago on Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. Their founders were passionate advocates for social justice and participated in the civil rights campaigns led by Dr. King. Over four decades, CAFB has grown from distributing a million meals out of an old, leaky warehouse to working with hundreds of their area’s nonprofits to distribute food and pilot initiatives that create opportunities for their neighbors to thrive. Today they are the anchor of the hunger relief infrastructure in the Greater Washington Region.
