Story 8: Pack to Give Back

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Through Jeffie’s Choice sponsorship, ten Mariner Finance team members united to pack hundreds of boxes of holiday food for Maryland Food Bank’s Pack to Give Back Event.

Each box contained holiday essentials like mashed potatoes, gravy, macaroni and cheese, brownie mix, and more. Each Mariner team member chose an item and packed the box in an assembly-line process.

Events like this are crucial to the Food Bank’s success, helping them deliver food supplies to families facing food insecurity throughout the year. Mariner Finance team members witnessed firsthand how volunteering positively affects the lives of neighbors in our communities.

Story 7: El Paso

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Through Jeffie’s Choice, Mariner Finance’s El Paso branch helped donate $2,500 to the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank (“EPFH”).

The donation supplied 17,500 meals to underserved communities experiencing food insecurity. EPFH collaborates with hundreds of agencies to distribute food and raise awareness for people in need. Single-parent households, veterans, senior citizens, and working-class families will benefit from the food and resources made possible by our donation.

Story 6: Texas Flood Relief

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Mariner Finance Texas team members worked together to pool their community engagement funds and donate $12,000 to the San Antonio Food Bank. Jeffie’s Choice then donated an additional $2,500 in support. This marks the largest community engagement event in Texas Mariner history.

The donation will be used to help provide food and resources for flood victims to get back on their feet. The Food Bank quickly distributes meals and supplies to communities that have been turned upside down after natural disasters. They also support other food banks that are impacted by the high demand for materials.

Story 5: Hands on Hunger Campaign

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Last year, Mariner Finance team members generously donated $21,081 to Jeffie’s Choice Hands on Hunger Match Campaign. During the campaign, team members take matters into their own hands and help donate to Jeffie’s Choice, where every $1 is matched by Mariner Finance. *

2024 marked a milestone year for the match campaign, with record donations that went beyond the goal. All of the money pledged went directly to providing resources to thousands of food banks across the country. Jeffie’s Choice supports communities in times of natural disasters, unforeseen circumstances, and financial hardship by providing meals and volunteers when needed.

Story 4: Splash Tower Fundraiser

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Mariner Finance team members raised $2,300 for Jeffie’s Choice and earned the chance to splash one of their favorite Mariner leaders. Mariner Finance’s Baltimore HQ, Plano, and DACC offices joined forces to make a splash and donate an outstanding $1,300, which was matched with an additional $1,000 by the HQ Engagement Committee.

All donations went straight to Jeffie’s Choice to help end hunger.

Every dollar raised for Jeffie’s Choice is distributed directly into local communities to help food banks provide resources and healthy meals. Jeffie’s Choice goes beyond the donations and also connects volunteers with organizations that make a difference.

Story 3: God's Pantry

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Mariner Finance and Jeffie’s Choice recently partnered to provide support to God’s Pantry at their Taste of Bluegrass Event in Kentucky. Mariner Finance Vice President Joe Keys served as an official judge of the Best Nonalcoholic Beverage category during the competition and had the opportunity to sample and support a wide variety of local vendors.

Additionally, Jeffie’s Choice and Mariner Finance’s Morehead, KY, branch recently partnered together to donate $4,250 as a sponsor of God’s Pantry’s Chili Wars event. 

Jeffie’s Choice also donated to Feeding America Kentucky’s Heartland and the Foundation for Appalachian Kentucky to support relief efforts and impact families struggling after tornadoes and floods. Continued support of these food banks enables them to strengthen communities through food and help to ultimately end hunger.

Story 2: Mid Ohio Food Bank

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Jeffie’s Choice and Mariner Finance launched a partnership in support of the Mid-Ohio Food Collective with a $2,500.00 donation.

The fundraiser directly benefited the Food Bank’s essential programs, including their local farms, which not only grow nutritious food but also serve as educational opportunities for the community. The farms play a key role in distributing fresh, healthy food across the region.

Story 1: Food Bank of Central & Northeast Missouri

In honor of the tenth anniversary of Jeffie’s Choice, the Jeffie’s Choice team is proud to share 10 stories that highlight the impact made in the communities we serve.  

Mariner Finance Assistant Manager Jeannie Fricke and Assistant Vice President Ryan Collins assisted with the delivery of a $2,500.00 donation from Jeffie’s Choice to the Food Bank of Central & Northeast Missouri. The donation helped provide 10,000 meals across 32 counties, reaching students, seniors, and families fighting hunger.

The Mariner Finance team members we able to tour the facility and gain valuable insight into the food bank’s operations, including how they provide nutritious meals to those facing food insecurity. The visit reinforced the support Mariner Finance and its team members have consistently provided to Jeffie’s Choice via donations and volunteer opportunities.
